The FMCSA recently announced that all certified Medical Examiners (MEs) are required to complete a qualified training course and pass the National Registry Medical Examiner Certification Test before their certification lapses. This recertification must be completed after year 9 and prior to year 10 of your ME credential issuance.
Because of FMCSA delays, MEs who are past due or are due to recertify in 2023 now have an extended period of time to do so. The extension is based on your certification expiration month and the training and testing allowance set by the National Registry. (See Chart)
