Physicians Interactive Expands Access to Continuing Medical Education Content from Oakstone

Skyscape Subscribers Eligible for Discounted Digital, Mobile CME Resources

Reading, MA – (December 3, 2013) – Physicians Interactive Holdings Inc. (PI), the leading provider of online and mobile clinical resources and solutions for healthcare professionals, today announced it will expand its partnership with Oakstone Publishing, LLC to offer healthcare professionals greater access to premium continuing medical and dental education (CME and CDE) content through digital and mobile channels.

Under the partnership, PI will now offer subscribers to its Skyscape digital and mobile platforms expanded access to Oakstone’s high quality, unbiased and multimedia resources for physicians, dentists and allied health care professionals at a discounted rate. Oakstone has achieved Accreditation with Commendation from the American Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the highest recognition for a medical content provider that the ACCME awards.

“We are excited to provide Skyscape subscribers access to Oakstone’s premier digital and mobile content resources at a discounted rate,” said Donato Tramuto, CEO and Chairman of the Board at Physicians Interactive. “Oakstone has a long track record of working with internationally recognized knowledge leaders and renowned U.S. medical institutions, and its resources are some of the best available today. Clinicians, who increasingly rely on mobile and digital devices in the workplace and during times when they are completing CME credits, will now have access to this content regardless of the application they require.”

Oakstone, one of the foremost providers of CME and CDE content available through online, video and audio formats, launched its first mobile application earlier this year for its Practical Reviews product line. PI and Oakstone established their initial strategic alliance in April 2012 to promote Oakstone’s Practical Reviews® and CMEinfo® products to PI’s Skyscape subscribers.

Oakstone recently launched NRCME Plus Online Training System™, which is also now available to Skyscape subscribers, in response to recent U.S. DOT regulations that commercial motor vehicle drivers must be certified to perform their jobs. The mandate, which goes into effect on May 21, 2014, will require physicians, nurse practitioners and physician assistants who perform DOT exams to become certified medical examiners in order to apply the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s (FMCSA) physical qualification standards and guidelines when certifying drivers for their jobs.

“We are excited to expand our partnership with Skyscape and Physicians Interactive,” said Diane Munson, Oakstone’s President and CEO. “This strategic alliance with a partner of such outstanding caliber continues Oakstone’s 35-plus year commitment of providing physicians and allied health care professionals with superior medical education programs.”
