ANNOUNCEMENTS
January 27, 2012: It has been reported this week that the NRCME
program will not be finalized until the Sring of 2012. We cannot
confirm or deny this additional delay in the program. We will check our
sources in the FMCSA and report as soon as we hear something.
December 28, 2011: The NRCME program was set to be released by
mandatory statute, today, December 28, 2011. A mandatory 30 day
waiting period was to ensue prior to becoming law, allowing examiners
to begin training around the first of February. As of today, that
review by the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs, and the
Office of Management and Budget has EXTENDED the review period. After a
number of calls, it appears our government is working on a skeleton
crew in Washington this week due to the holidays. According to statute,
this extended review can be indefinite or if declared, can be a 30 day
extension. No one at this time can give me an answer regarding the
extension period. We will keep our ears open for specifics, but
as for now, we must again stand down on the NRCME program for a bit
longer, it seems. Happy New Year!
November 27, 2011: Our countdown begins. Estimated Decmeber 15,
2011 release of the final rule. Will take us a couple of weeks to
review the final document, one month of wait time until final rule is
implemented. Estimate Mid January, early February 2012 release. AT THAT
TIME, you will be able to purchase training in anticipation of the
Federal NRCME Examination.
November 9, 2011:
Last Monday we participated in an FMCSA Webinar for training companies.
Though the final rule will not be released until mid December, based on
what we heard, and compared to the online handbook posted by the FMCSA,
we feel we are over 95% accurate on our training material.
October 25,
2011: Hope you all are enjoying the "DOTTidbits," a weekly note
to keep you up-to-date and make your DOT day a little easier. We
are preparing a nice gift for all of our subscribers to be delivered
Mid November, so please sign up! It is free.
September 29, 2011: Sign up now below for training and NRCME
progress updates. Also, we have started our weekly "DOT Tidbits."
These are little helps and hints you can use each day to allow yourself
to be the best DOT examiner in your area. Sign up below.
September 19,
2011: Chicago Pre-Release conference received nice reviews
and even out most seasoned DOT examiners commented they learned quite a
bit. There are no scheduled conferences for the remainer of this
year. Our online version will eliminate the need to drive, fly,
stay in a hotel and miss family and work. We expect the FMCSA to allow
online training for this program and anticipate a release of
Mid-December 2011. Best way to stay updated is to sign up on our
list-serve below.
